THE FIRE OF GOD FALLS ON THE FINAL NIGHT

The fire of God falls on Santa Barbara. It is July the eighth, 2025. On this date 57 years ago Mario Murillo Ministries was born. To be in the very city where this ministry was born on our 57th anniversary is supernatural.

That is why it is no surprise that this is the greatest demonstration of the fire of God that we have seen under the Tent.

As always Catherine Mullins and the worship team took us into the glory. But there was something in the air that told you something extraordinary was going to happen. And it did!

I said all that to set them up for everything that was burning in my heart.

Then I told the audience that I remembered when the Jesus Movement and then the Charismatic Movement struck Santa Barbara. And I reminded them that churches worked together in unity and excitement.

Furthermore, I remember how souls were being saved 24 hours a day. I said all that to set them up for everything that was burning in my heart.

From Sesame Street back to Azusa Street. That was the name of my sermon. I held nothing back because I knew this was the last night.

I also felt the weight of this message, knowing it was designed to start a movement in Santa Barbara. It all hinged on preaching the exact message in the exact way that the Holy Spirit wanted. So I dove in.

When you use the Baptism in the Holy Spirit to target emotional problems you get no souls, and neither do you recover emotionally.

I laid out the big reason that the Spirit-filled movement had lost momentum here – it was because preachers stopped preaching about the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

And even when the Holy Spirit was mentioned, He was largely represented as a kind of therapist. The chief emphasis was emotional recovery. This had a devastating effect on soul winning.

The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not given for emotional issues but for power to witness. Acts 1:8, “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

But when you receive the Spirit in order to win souls, you get both souls and recovery.

The ironic part is this: when you use the Baptism in the Holy Spirit to target emotional problems you get no souls, and neither do you recover emotionally.

But when you receive the Spirit in order to win souls, you get both souls and recovery.

Then I told them that the Holy Spirit was not a door prize or a parting gift.

Jesus said in John 16:7, “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”

Jesus came, limited in physical form and could not be everywhere. The arrival of the Holy Spirit instantly transformed Christianity into a global force. The Holy Spirit added exponential power to the Church because He was omnipresent.

But there is more. The Holy Spirit gave us everything we would ever need to establish the Kingdom of God and fulfill the Great Commission.

Everything that the Church would ever need and want was available in Him.

John 16:12-15, “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.  All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.”

He is the administrator. He is also the strategist and the might of God. Everything that the Church would ever need and want was available in Him.

That is what makes it such a high crime for human programs to control the Church.

God fell on all of us. It looked like a hundred people were baptized into the Holy Spirit.

And it is embarrassing that we do not recognize why we are failing. He has everything we need to do a mighty work.

So, I ended with a burning question. Do you want to restore the Spirit-filled witness in Santa Barbara? Do you want to be a movement again?

Even before I prayed, I felt the fire of God in the room. Everyone could see that these people were hungry and willing to return to a true Pentecostal witness. And then it happened!

God fell on all of us. It looked like a hundred people were baptized into the Holy Spirit. The rest of the audience was consumed by fresh fire. The power kept rising and the fire got intense. We were literally enveloped by the Glory of God!

The crusade that had everything going against it became one of the most powerful and meaningful events we have witnessed. No wonder the devil fought it so hard!

On our 57th birthday—in the very city where we were born, we saw the birth of a movement. Stay tuned, this is going to get even more amazing!
