it Is Our Turn Now
It was the final night in California, but it was no less powerful. The people were there, engaged, hungry, and ready for what God would do.
Catherine Mullins and her incredible band once again led us into the presence of God. Leading the way praising God in song and dance. The people filled the front altar area joining in praising their God.
They finished the time of praise with our favorite anthem, “I Speak Jesus.” She had not sung this any of the other nights and it made it all the more powerful. You could feel the presence of God.
As I’ve been saying all week this crusade has not been like any other. Everything about it has been different, not only between other crusades and this one, but also from night to night. And tonight was no exception as Mario took the stage and within minutes had an altar call.
He began by saying, “Tonight under this tent Jesus will have the final word. They told you, you weren’t going to get well, but Jesus is going to have the final word. That it would be a long time before the pain would leave, but Jesus is going to have the final word.”
He didn’t even have the people sit down, but immediately began to explain they were not in this tent on this night by accident, that it was precisely when and where they were supposed to be.
He spoke about how we’ve created a way of life in America that hurts real bad, that uses you and discards you. And that its no wonder there is a national return to Jesus Christ.
Then he called for those looking for a new life, for peace of mind, for God to forgive their sins and wash away their mistakes, to raise their hand and then to move to the front of the tent.
And once again they moved immediately, no hesitation, no delay. And it was a powerful response as the front of the tent was filled with people, and down the aisles. All seeking a new life in Christ.
Mario prayed over them and then led them out to be ministered to by our amazing volunteer army.
Catherine and her team once again led us in the old camp meeting song, “Look What the Lord has Done.” The people were on their feet and it was a wonderful time of celebration of what God had just done.
Mario began his message and said it was titled, “It’s Our Turn Now.” He began by telling the story of Kirk Gibson who had been drafted to play Major League Baseball.
After bouncing around from team to team he ended up the Dodgers who were facing off against the Mets. They had lost 10 out of the last 11 matches against them. But they managed to pull it off.
In game five Kirk tore a hamstring and in the next game blew out a knee. So he was effectively out for game one of the World Series against the Oakland A’s. At the end of the game, bottom of the ninth, all hope gone. The announcer said, all season the Dodgers have depended on Kirk but now when they need him he was no where to be found.
Kirk heard that and immediately called Lasorda and told him to put him in the game. And Lasorda agreed. So barely able to stand, and not able to run, Kirk took the plate facing down Eckersely, the greatest closer in baseball. He fouls the ball several times, and then suddenly a pitch came down, he swung and connected with the ball which flew out of the park for the winning home run — it became known as the shot heard round the world.
Several years later Mario was on a flight and was upgraded to First Class where he noticed Tommy Lasorda was also sitting. When they got to altitude and were able to leave their seats, Mario went up to speak to Lasorda and was surprised when Tommy said, “Hi Mario.” He had seen him preaching on Trinity Broadcasting.
Tommy asked Mario to sit down next to him and in their conversation, Mario asked Tommy what he was thinking when he put Kirk in that fateful game. And Lasorda looked at Mario and said, “I knew it was his turn.” Then Mario said the Holy Spirit told him, “They’ve had America, but its our turn now.
Next Mario said there is a story in the Bible that parallels everything in this story. It is the story of Elijah on Mount Carmel.
“And Elijah the Tishbite, of the inhabitants of Gilead, said to Ahab, ‘As the Lord God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, except at my word.’” 1 Kings 17:1 (NKJV)
Mario said, in many ways America is being punished. We are being punished in our international prestige, our economy, our quality of life, in the crime in our cities. We are being punished because we have honored ideas God hates.
He said there are a lot of social media prophets and asked how you know they are false? Because they are doing everything but what a prophet is supposed to do. A true prophet speaks to the sin of a culture and commands them to repent.
The prophet Nathan went to King David and rebuked him. And you are not a true prophet if you are not willing to rebuke the king.
He said it is time for the body of Christ in America to rise up and say, “We have a role in the ministry of America. We have a right to be here and to speak up. We belong at the table of influence.” America is not our playground. It is a mission of the body of Christ.
“Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, ‘Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and dwell there. See, I have commanded a widow there to provide for you.’” 1 Kings 17:8 (NKJV)
When Elijah went to the widow he did something amazing, he multiplied oil in a drought.
Mario then said to the people, can you imagine if up the road in Fresno there was a gas station selling gas for $0.25/gallon? And asked if they believed it would be national, and potentially international news? And the station owner says he can’t explain it but the tanks never run out. And the question he asked is, would someone know?
Elijah was under siege. Ahab had sent assassins to take him out. And even though he had multiplied the oil and raised the dead, they couldn’t find him. God hid him.
Mario the said to the preachers, that they are frustrated because they have had great breakthrough but the attendance didn’t grow. They had miracles happen but it didn’t result in exponential growth.
He said they would learn the secret of the divine slingshot. When God makes a promise to a man or woman that He’s going to use them, He first begins by pulling them away from their goal not toward it.
Mario told the people they need to understand that they’ve had their turn at marriage, at education, and to control the media. And now Elon Musk comes on the scene, Joe Rogan starts a podcast, and Tucker Carleson leaves Fox. Then suddenly the entire media’s control on information in America has flipped.
But God did not do it for them. He is doing it for the church. And shouted, “Ladies and Gentlemen, it is our turn now!”
The divine frustration, the build up, is something God does in His people. He did it in Hannah’s life where He closed her womb. God did not starve her of having children to deprive her of having children, but to deepen her passion to have a child.
Hannah was crying out, “I want a child.” And a voice returned saying, “I need a prophet.” It’s one thing to have a child, but to be willing to give it up is another. God seemed to pull her away from her promise.
Her reward was not Samuel, that was her offering to God. She ended up having five children.
Elijah needs to be understood. He loved Israel, he loved the word of God, he was a man of God, and was a man of God with power because he paid the price for that power. And he hated what was going on in his country.
During the second world war, General Patton was sitting in a hotel in London being used as a decoy. His frustration building and Eisenhower did not tell him why he was keeping him there. Likewise, God has not told you why He is keeping you where you are.
General Patton was so great a general, by being a decoy Hitler believed the invasion would come through Normandy and he moved multiple divisions of the Nazi army, splitting his army.
Patton was so frustrated by being held back from the invasion that when he was reactivated he liberated 26,000 hamlets, villages, and cities.
Mario asked the people how many have ever been there, felt a divine frustation. Felt like the word of God was that something was supposed to happen through their life.
The very thing you think is keeping you from your goal is building up the passion for it.
When God released Elijah he went straight to Ahab.
“Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, ‘Is that you, O troubler of Israel?’ And he answered, ‘I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.’” 1 Kings 18:17-18 (NKJV)
Elijah looked at the king and told him he was the problem. There is nothing wrong with the pastors of America getting up in their pulpit and saying “You are in sin, you are in rebellion against God, and we are not going to have your filth or your perversion any more.”
Mario said, “Supernatural gifts are manifested for a purpose. They are never just for show.” God empties a wheelchair or opens eyes with a lot more in mind than you or I have.
Elijah told Ahab he was taking authority over him because what Ahab had done to culture had destroyed them. And he was there as a man of God to tell them the nation was great because it was founded on God.
Elijah accused Ahab of abandoning God and turning to Baal. When we look at what has happened to the left and what they espouse in their view of the Christian faith, there is no room for neutrality. You either believe in Jesus or the Devil.
Mario said, “We are at that moment where God has said Church get ready because I am about to do something through you. I am setting the stage, changing the media, slanting censorship away from you, opening the door to be in the schools, and to have a chance to do something for America.”
Elijah challenged Ahab on the mountain, at the two altars. And he let Ahab go first, and they took all day. Mario said, we’ve had 16 years of misery, and of everything decent and good being torn down.
Mario said this is the moment we have been waiting for all our lives. The threshold of new anointing of God.
He said America is on Mount Carmel and we’ve had the cultural perversion and domination. But it is our turn now.
Mario then had the people pray in the Holy Spirit. And the atmosphere in the room shifted as the Spirit swept through the tent.
He shared that God had been very specific about how He was going to heal this night, and that he was going to follow the instructions explicitly.
He had those who needed to be healed to raise their hands. Then had those around them lay hands on and pray for them. You could feel the power of God flow through that tent as God healed people all over that space.
It was a holy and powerful moment and lives were definitely touched and healed.
If you were in the tent you felt it, if you watched online you felt it. If you were not able to be there be sure to watch the website for news of future meetings and do everything to be there, and to bring your lost friends and relatives with you.
