I Am Living Proof
They are such an amazing and anointed group of individuals that come together each night and lead us to the throne.
The people were clearly ready and joined in immediately. You can feel the Holy Spirit fill the room as they come together in worship. It never feels like we are in a concert, the atmosphere is always holy.
Mario took the platform and shared a message called, “I Am Living Proof.”
“The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Proverbs 21:1 NKJV).
He began by asking the question, “Can I influence you who don’t know Christ, to receive Him as your Lord? Can it be done?” Adding that there are some who believe they are beyond the influence of the Holy Spirit, that they cannot break the habit, cannot be changed. They seem to believe that no one is eloquent enough to change them from darkness to light.
Mario then asked, if the heart of a king can be changed by God, how much more can yours be changed?
He said if your argument is that there is no such thing as real supernatural power, no real God, and Jesus is not capable of doing all these things, then you have got a big ‘uh-oh’ – because you are sitting next to someone who was healed of cancer, or was on heroin and set free, or one night was spared an attempt to end their life. And, instead, they got saved. The evidence is all around you, the joy is all around you.
Mario went on to say that every human on Earth is living proof of something. By their life they are living proof of their choices. Maybe by proving adultery can destroy a marriage; proving drugs can destroy a life; proving atheism is a cul-de-sac draining the spirit of everything meaningful; and that backsliding makes you miserable.
Then he said another word for proof is ‘fruit’.
“You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?” (Matthew 7:16 NKJV).
This verse emphasizes that a person’s true character, the real person, is not revealed by their words. You can have a vocabulary going in one direction, and a life going in the opposite direction. That’s why there are people going to hell that are in church.
Mario said this ability to say one thing and live another is so widespread that people are no longer preaching the true Gospel in the pulpit. Because a spirit has gotten into many celebrity pastors wanting attendance, notoriety, and book sales. Then he said, “I don’t want any of that, I simply want souls to be saved!”
He said being born again is not turning over a new leaf. Billy Graham preferred the term, to be “born from above.” To be reborn is not to say, ‘I’m going to change’, but rather, ‘I am going to have a collision between with God where He wins, and I cease to exist.’
Christianity is the cure for your fear. The cure for your loneliness. The cure for your lust. The Bible says, he who is born of God overcomes the world.
You may say you are a Christian, but you are not living proof of Christianity if you are saying one thing, while living another way. And the real danger is that it doesn’t bother you.
Mario said, “Living Proof” became a part of the Mario Murillo Ministry because we have determined to create disciples. Not numbers, not statistics, not somebody that walks forward and makes us look good, but someone that walks forward and is struck by the power of God. They come up one way and leave a completely new person.
It’s not enough to be a good person, if your Christianity is not doing you any good. You have medication for your headache, but you still have the headache because you won’t open the bottle. You are dying of thirst because you won’t drink the living water.
Mario said, “I would never tell a person in a wheelchair, ‘I want you to imagine getting up and walking.’ Or someone with cancer, ‘I want you to imagine what it would be like without it.’ But I would say, “No, I don’t want you to imagine what it would be like to know Jesus. I want you to know Jesus!”
“You are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read by all men; clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart” (2 Corinthians 3:2, 3 NKJV).
Mario asked, ‘How many moral sins are there that modern preachers are afraid to identify, and think they are doing so in love?’ Adding that it’s love when you can speak truth to the alcoholic, and you will never take another drink. You can be set free of being violent and never hurt your wife again. You can be set free from pornography. But then there are certain lifestyles that we get weird about. And what we are saying is that the blood of Jesus can do this, but it cannot do that.
It’s time to tell everyone who is hurting, who is addicted, who is poisoned in their spirit, that by the power of Jesus you can be set free and have natural love!
People say you should tell people they are accountable for their choices. But that ends when you discover why you can’t change. Because the Devil is attacking you. The first thing to do is resist the Devil and submit yourself unto God. Say to Jesus, ‘Come into my soul and get this demon off me.’
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2 NKJV).
Mario shared a little more and then called for those who want their life to truly be living proof, those who want Jesus to free them from the demons driving their lives, to stand and come forward.
There was such a wonderful response. So many came forward to be set free and to become truly living proof. It was a beautiful sight.
Mario prayed over them and then released them to be ministered to by our incredible team of volunteers.
During this time of ministry we were once again blessed by the incredible Catherine Mullins and team, leading us in songs of celebration.
Finally, once everyone returned, Mario shared some stories of healing. And then called for everyone who needed a touch from God to raise their hands. There was a sea of hands all over the Tent.
Next Mario instructed them to prepare to pray for one another. To lay hands on each other and pray for them. Because everyone needs to learn that it is not Mario Murillo who heals, and it is not any of them who heal. It is Jesus Christ Who heals. And He will work with and flow through those who are His.
People began to pray over one another, and it was such a beautiful sight and an amazing way to end the night.
