Be Bold!

Over 25 years ago, at the request of a dear friend, I sang Via Dolorosa at the funeral of her husband. 

I don’t speak Spanish, but I sang the song in English and Spanish. 

Everyone in the room was bilingual or Spanish speaking only, the family was large, the couple had 10 grown children. I wanted to say no, there were other singers that could deliver the song  “Sandi Patty” perfect, but I said yes.  I took a deep breath, trusted God and sang that day. 

Years later, one of the family members from Rosenberg recognized Ken and me at a Buffalo restaurant and thanked me again for singing that song.

A sweet and unexpected reminder that whatever we do with a sincere heart and trusting Jesus can have a far reaching and a lasting ripple effect. 

Step out! Be bold! Do it scared! 

God has our backs!! 

I believe that God fixed the off key notes and the mispronounced words, He helped me deliver a song that touched the hurting heart of my beloved friend and her family.

Philippians 1:20… according to my earnest expectation and hope, that in nothing shall I be put to shame, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether by life, or by death.
